Information About Giving
Tithing Explained

Church tithing is a practice where members of a congregation contribute a portion of their income, typically ten percent, to support the work of the church and its ministries. This concept is rooted in biblical teachings, such as Malachi 3:10, which states: "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." Tithing is viewed as an act of obedience, trust, and stewardship, reflecting a commitment to God's work and provision for the needs of the community.

Offerings Explained

A church offering, as inspired by biblical teachings, is a voluntary donation given by members of a congregation to support the work of the church and help those in need. In 2 Corinthians 9:7, it is written: "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." This act of giving reflects gratitude towards God's blessings and demonstrates love for one's community, echoing the sentiment expressed in Luke 6:38: "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

First Fruits Explained

Church first fruits refer to the practice of offering the first and best of one's harvest or income to God as an expression of gratitude and trust. This concept is deeply rooted in biblical teachings, particularly in Proverbs 3:9-10, which advises: "Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine." By dedicating the first fruits to God, believers acknowledge His provision and sovereignty over their lives, inviting His blessings and favor upon their endeavors. It symbolizes prioritizing God's kingdom and trusting in His faithfulness for sustenance and abundance.
